Winter Wonder Land Friends

Hi Everyone

You can't help but get in the Christmas mood with all the unexpected snow we're getting around here.

The rain turned to snow yesterday evening and we woke up to no school and cars froze over in our driveway.

Since bicycles couldn't fit into our 2 car garage, let alone one of our cars, my husband had a very cold time this morning scraping the ice and snow from the vehicles. I stayed in the warm kitchen and baked a cake for my 2 birthday boys. My youngest son turns 20 tomorrow.

We bought a big 50 lb bag of bird seed today at Tractor Supply, and just before the sun set we filled up our feeders. So soon, I should have pretty bird pictures to share with you.

But, in the mean time, I thought I'd show you how some of my other outside critters are coping with the cold and snow.

My front porch goose is trying to be brave.

And these little ones all in a row seem to be in awe of the snow and cold.

Our pretty state bird is waiting patiently for me to put out the seeds.

The little doggie still stands proud as she looks out over the yard.

The raccoon and colorful chicken seem to be oblivious to it all.

The pretty little squirrel is holding tightly to it's food, daring anyone to take it from him.

And lastly, this doe seems to be blinded by all the snow, wondering where she is.

The critters all seem to be frozen in time, waiting for the Spring thaw. I think they'll have a long wait, though.

What's the weather like where you are?

  1. I'll take all the snow you can send me. :) We haven't had anything but rain and it's so depressing. Rain for Christmas? Say it isn't so! Our temps were in the 60's the other day and in the 30's today. Mother Nature is having a hissy-fit, I think. xxoo

  2. Your snow is pretty.
Rain here Wed and Thurs, and lots of it. Creeks are swollen.
Sunshine today, but the wind was cold.
