Yard Pics and Comments

Sometimes big is not better. . .

But sometimes, it would be. . .

I like black better than red. . .

I've never had the problem of being too tall for my surroundings. . .

But, I am not perfect. . .

So why should I expect perfection from my plants

  1. Ha, ha; looks like a little dragon.
Are those veggies from your garden?
We're at 101.5* here this afternoon and very dry.

  2. Yes they are from my garden. I guess my dry ground was a little too hard for the poor little carrot. It was good, though. I don't think we will be able to eat the watermelons any too soon and my lettuce has gotten a little out of control. I am anxiously awaiting for the berries to ripen and my very tall tiger lilies to bloom.

  4. Oh no Janet! That poor little carrot! Are they all like that? I should post pictures of our garden so you can get a good laugh at it too! Our squash plant is huge with no blooms. Weeds have overtaken the tomatoes, peppers and I don't know where the cabbage is now. Corn is missing too. Not a good year, AGAIN, for a garden around here! Good thing I don't rely on our garden to feed us! lol

  5. I enjoyed the tour of your garden. My rabbits loves it when my lettuce gets out of hand!! Or when the carrots are a bit misshaped.

Keep sharing and I will keep reading.

  6. Happy 4th of July, Janet! I loved the photos! I love blackberries best, too! Imperfections are what make us and others and even vegetables more interesting and many times more lovable (I hope!).

  7. Cute post!
My lettuce is growing very slowly. I haven't grown lettuce in years, and then only once. So I don't know what's wrong with it.
Aren't we all a little imperfect?
    Happy Independence Day!

  10. What a sense of humor! We had some funny-looking carrots too, and many that had gotten eaten by the wireworms. This is sure a buggy year. Your lily looks like it will be beautiful!
