I'm participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday again, hosted by Colorado Lady. Go visit and see others who are posting their vintage thingies.
I was cleaning out the garage and look what I found:
old aprons. . .
more old aprons. . .
more old aprons. . .
and more old aprons.
And I found some vintage table cloths hiding out there, too.
I just love the colors in these three. . .
and the colors in these also. They used to make table cloths so pretty.
And here are three more.
I also found these old post cards from Florida. Most are dated from the 1930s. The colors are so vivid and the texture of the cards are so different than the ones made today. Take a close up look at them and see how pretty they are.
And, last but not least, here I am wearing a hand made dress made in 1963 when West Virginia was celebrating it's Centennial. I just love it! Now if I could just lose about 10 pounds so it would fit me better.
I think I'm going to have to clean out the garage more often. It's hard to tell what else I might find out there.
I didn't find this in the garage, but since Saturday is the 4th of July, I thought I would post this beautiful old picture of the flag that hangs in my bedroom.
God Bless the USA!
Gosh some awesome aprons and linens - wish they were mine!
ReplyDeleteI love the old post cards. The one of Bok Towers was great to see. That is one of my favorite places to visit here in Florida. Back in March, I took my sister and brother-in-law there. It is such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you will use any of the old tablecloths at a future family reunion?
Oh my!!!! What wonderful treasures you found. Lovely, lovely aprons and linens. *sighs..I want them all..:)

I don't think I'd ever leave the garage with such beautiful treasures hiding there. I love the aprons (especially the red and grey with the red trim) and the tablecloths! I'm thinking you have treasures from the 40s,50s and 60s lurking in your garage and then you pull out the 30s postcards! Great post! Have a Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteWow, Jan...how many table cloths does that make you now? I think you and Charley are going to have to add on to your house to make room for all of your "stuff"....or better yet, build you a little cabin like you want. Did you make that dress? I could never ever fit into anything that I wore that long ago.
ReplyDeleteWow! You hit the mother load!
ReplyDeleteWere they yours that you had forgotten you tucked away?
And yes, God bless the USA!!
These items were really hiding in your garage? Girl, what is wrong with you! I love the tablecloths and aprons. Put them to good use now! :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteWith my addiction to aprons I wish I'd found them and you had a bump on your nose! Just kidding, I don't wish you a bump on your nose, that's just something my grandma used to say. :) Love the aprons though! blessings, marlene
