Man and Wife

January 31, 2009

Cold temperatures, icy parking lots, good food, family, and friends.

My oldest son Charley got married today! My first one to leave the roost.

It was a very cold day, and the parking lots were icy, but friends and family came and it was a beautiful wedding.

Man and Wife

I almost caught them kissing

a sweet pose of the newlyweds

Onto the reception and the chow line.

Looks like the best man is hungry!

A beautiful cake, almost too pretty to eat.

But that doesn't keep them from cutting it.

Oh no! Looks like somebody has been up to no good.

The car was filled with balloons!

Looks like a guilty bunch of guys to me. What do you think?

"I'm innocent, I didn't do a thing."

Memories of a wonderful day!

Now, give me a day or two to get used to my son being married. I got up this morning and looked into his room. It's still filled with most of his stuff, but he's not there sitting at his computer. I went in, picked up a dirty glass from his desk, stood and looked around and tears filled my eyes.

CONGRATULATIONS CHARLEY AND JENNIFER

LOVE, MOM

  1. Hi Jan. Good pictures. I'm glad you didn't get me in them. I know it hurts. I went through it twice. It will take time getting used to him being gone.

  2. They make a beautiful couple!
It's hard letting them go but we have to give them wings and let them fly.

  6. Congratulations to the newlyweds! May God bless their union for many, many years. The pictures are lovely ... I adore Jennifer's dress. I really liked the picture of Charley putting his hand under Jennifer's chin. So nice. Did you save us all a piece of cake? :) xxoo

  7. Jan, congrats to your son and new wife. I feel for you today. It is sad to look into a empty room and their not there. Our children are all grown up and live on their own now and it is lonesome to me sometimes. My son is only 20 and he already has his pwn place. I am prouid of him, but I would also like for him to still be at home with me. The wedding was beautiful and the cake so pretty. Look at it like your gaining a new daughter, bucause really you are. My friend Lea calls her daughter in law her daughter in love. I think that is pretty cool. Now, bring on all those grandbabies huh? Oh by the way TS does mean thrift store. I see people use that all the time like DH means dear husband. Shanda
