That's Easy!

What do you do when the temperature gets up to 50 degrees?

That's Easy! You wash your dirty, nasty, disgusting looking car. Snow and salt just does not do anything for the looks of a white car.

Sorry, no before pictures. It was not a pretty sight.

For those of you who know us, you are probably saying, "That's not your car."
Well, "Yes, it is." I guess you could say that we traded down.

We recently traded our Taurus, which had over 120,000 miles on it, for this little Ford Focus. It had around 5 miles on it! It gets pretty good gas mileage, too. Driving 65 on the interstate, it said we were getting 37 mpg. Sounds good to me. Charley said when he was driving 70, it said we were getting around 32 mpg. So I guess it's true what he's being telling the kids all along, you get better gas mileage when you go slower.

How's you car? Is it still dirty with salt and snow or did you take advantage of this nice weather and give it a wash job?

  1. Well, my car is still covered in the filth even though the temperature was close to 50 degrees today. Sounds like a project for tomorrow afternoon.

  2. I love your cute new car:) I have a Grand Am that is "bronze mist" color, a color that I thought would not show the dirt when I got it, and it shows it HORRIBLY, so mine is dirty:(

  3. Well we haven't been quite that warm here, but I washed mine on Wednesday when it got all the way up to 32°. My poor baby was absolutely crusty with salt! It doesn't show dirt too badly though, it's color is called platinum, sort of a super light silver. Your car is very snappy looking! You made a good choice if it's getting that kind of mileage!

  7. Still filthy--but hey, it rained! So maybe some of it washed off? The car didn't move today; we were home all day. Tomorrow when I go to work it will add mud to the salt and other gunk. Should be lovely :-( I'm calling it winter camo.

  8. John gave our truck a much needed bath...now you can see what color it is. Daddy told us about your new car...I really like it...sure wish I had one...but that is a luxury we can't afford.

  10. Your new car looks great. I need to wash my car. My car is so dirty right now that after I wash it I will think I have a new car. While at least a new paint job.

  13. No snow yet this year. But, yes, my car is disgusting and filthy form the tons of rain we've been getting. Dirty streets, puddles, etc.

Each time we get a break in the rain I determine to head for the carwash. Alas, something always interferes.

  14. The rain washed mine today. But, I do need to give it a good cleaning. It has close to 200 thousand miles and I plan on driving it 200 more.
