Thrift Store - Books, Books, Books

I love books! All kinds of books.

When I went to the Mountain Mission thrift store today while my husband was at the dentist getting work done on his root canal, I found their books on sale for 20 cents. Was I ever happy.

I came out of the store with my arms full of books.

And then on the way home when we stopped at the Sissonville Library to drop of  February copies of Two-Lane Livin', I found four books on their for sale shelf for 25 cents each!

four hardback quilting books, hardback crochet book,
Kovel's Antiques and Collectible 2011 price guide book, etc.

Three Little Golden Books, The Dot, The Family Under the Bridge, The Homecoming,
The Boxcar Children and The Doctor's Daughter

I just couldn't pass these books up at these prices.

Earlier this week I received this box of goodies in the mail.
I had won a giveaway over at

box filled with pretty things!

Have you found any good deals lately?

Writing Wednesday

I'm a little behind on my Writing Wednesday post.
Have you heard the old saying, "I've got too many pots on the stove?"
Well, that is the way it is around here. I have got too many things I am working on and I am behind.

I have a work in progress that I have finished, but it needs a lot of editing!
At the moment I am calling it a novella.
For the life of me I cannot seem to write a full length novel.
I guess that is why my specialty is children's books.

Anyone else have that trouble?

I distributed the June copies of Two-Lane Livin' today. If you have time, click over to their site and check it out. If any of my readers live in the Jackson County area, there are copies of it at the Jackson County Library in Ripley, First National Bank in Ripley, Crabby Patti's in Ripley, Your Family Restaurant in Kenna and the McDonalds in Fairplain. They will be at the Ravenswood Library tomorrow night when I go there to my writer's meeting.

The Library was having a book sale today! Tables and tables of books! Bag up what you want and put a donation in the jar on the table. Well, I got a few.

As you can see, I got a wide variety of books.
Civil War books, writing books, children's books, etc.
My husband picked out a few, too.

Happy Writing.

Books

I love books! All kinds of books. Even though my children are not small any more, I have lots of children's books. I write children's stories, so I like to read what I write.

I buy books at yard sales, thrift stores and bargain bins. Our local grocery store, Krogers, has a nice book section and I love to browse through it. They have a bin now that is filled with books that are 75% off.! So I have to look through them when I'm there.

The Frame Your Memories book was taken from the Kroger discount bin
and I paid less than $2 for it. I love to craft and it is full of good ideas.
The Heavenly Handmade BAGS and Martha Stewart Book were from the thrift store for 25 cents!

Venola the Vegetarian was from a thrift store.
It is autographed and by a West Virginia author. Yea, for WV authors!
Snail's Good Night was a cute kid's book for $1 from the Kroger's discount bin.

I love historical fiction and Defending Hillsborough (even though it is an older book written in the late 90s) was a very good read and it was also signed by the author. American Lives is a college textbook.
It is filled with 20 biographies of different people in American history.
These were also thrift store finds for only 25 cents each.

These are some of the latest additions to my collection of books. Do you like books?
