Drum Roll please! The winner of last Wednesday's give a way is Tipper! I will be sending her a copy of Christmas Traditions and some of my home made Christmas Ornaments. I put the names into my mom's old Santa hat and pulled out the winner.
Just like in writing, you can't win if you don't enter. Thanks to everyone who entered.
I am also the winner of a give a way. I won a contest over at YA Fusion! My prize was a book titled, "Writing Young Adult Fiction for Dummies."
And, I would like to thank everyone for their nice comments on my header! We love feeding our birds and that picture was taken last winter on our deck. I've gotten quite a few interesting pictures of our hungry birds and I hope to get a lot more good pictures this winter. One of my bird pictures was picked to be on the cover of the December issue of Two Lane Livin' this month, also. The birds are fascinating to watch and I think I'll keep taking their pictures.
I've put up what I am calling my Charley Brown tree. It is a scrawny little thing, but I surrounded it with children's picture books and cute home made ornaments of snowmen, sleds and building block elves.
I love getting out my books and displaying them at Christmas.
Do you have a favorite Christmas book? Do you display them at Christmas?
Happy writing!
Love that blue-jay, caught right in the heart of the action!
ReplyDeleteI do like to read a Christmas-y book this time of year. One of my favorites is Fannie Flagg's A Redbird Christmas, what a heartwarming story! It's been a few years since I've read it, so I think it'll be my choice this year :)
The table cover under your little tree is really pretty. I like the idea of putting out Christmas books.
ReplyDeleteGreat Joy by Kate DiCamillo is a wonderful Christmas book.
ReplyDeleteDonna
I've never read Redbird Christmas, but if Fannie wrote it, I'm sure it's good. The little table cover came from the thrift store the other day and I thought I would put it to good use.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your winner. ;-) No fave Christmas book here.
ReplyDeleteI only have a few Christmas books, and they're on the shelf year round. I love your little tree :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to my sweet friend Tipper, I know she will enjoy it.. Love your Charlie Brown tree. I have one too.. Merry Christmas To You Yours..Susie
ReplyDeleteI drag out all my Christmas books, Janet, and have a shelf full of them. One of my favorite stories for this season is Stubby Pringle's Christmas; it's about a cowboy who stumbles on a cabin on his way to a dance, and what happens is just a great story. I usually re-read Scrooge, and a few other stories too. And of course, I love Christmas music and have it playing all the time--drives Larry crazy ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, congratulations on getting your bird picture on the cover! That is really wonderful. I just love your header picture, it is so detailed. I can almost hear the crunch of the peanut between his beak and feel the ice cold snow. I could just stare at those beautiful blue feathers all day long. :) We have a two trees in the front of our property that are just loaded with red cardinal birds. I would love to get a good picture, but so far they haven't come out very well. But I will keep trying. Hope you have a nice evening! Delisa :)
ReplyDeleteThat little blue jay is soooo cute! Congrats to Tipper! I have a few Christmas books that I get out and display on the coffee table every Christmas. A Christmas Carol, being my favorite of them. Love the way you display yours with the little tree.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite all time Children's story is the "Littlest Angel."
ReplyDeleteI love your little Charlie Brown tree. I too place books of the season under the tree for the grandkiddos.
Congratulations to your winner and to you!
I'm havin' a book giveaway over at my place. Come on over...I'll leave the door open and throw out a tray of fudge! Heeehehe!
God bless ya and have a glorious day! :o)
