The snow we had yesterday combined with the frigid temperatures this morning
and made a frosty paradise on our little acre of land.

When the sun came up, the outside looked like diamonds sparkling.

A droopy sunflower left over from the hot days of summer.

Seed pods from one of our Rose of Sharon bushes.

 Dinner bell on the deck.

The yellow finches basked in the warming sun and filled their tummies.

  1. You must be an early riser Janet! I hardly ever get to see the frosty sights like that because I like to sleep in when I can! lol Beautiful pictures! wsaz is saying that we might get another storm Monday evening! I'll have to go to the store if that is true! lol

    Have a Great Weekend!

  2. Wonderful pictures Janet. I love the finches at the bag feeder and the rose of sharon pods too :) Stay warm!

  3. I like the picture of the dinner bell, that is cool (no pun intended).

Whitetail Woods Blog / Deer Hunting and Blackpowder Shooting at it’s best.

  4. Wasn't it beautiful, Janet? You got some wonderful photos. I wish I had thought to tell you about today's workshop in Charleston. I learned a lot and am looking forward to editing my stories--again. I can see now wherre some of gthe problems are.

There may be another workshop, and if gthere is I'll let you know. And there is talk about starting a chapter of SCBWI in WV!

  5. Angela, I slept in a little late this morning, around 8:30 before I got up, but the frosty sights were still around. Susanna, I had saw where they were going to have that workshop, but I forgot about it. It would be nice if they would start a chapter near here.

  6. Beautiful pics! I was so frustrated when they cancelled kanawha county but us employees still had to show up hehehe!!! I'm an aide to a specific child so when he's not there.....i don't have much to do! I love all of your nature pictures! Did you hear we might get another whopper of a storm this week?

  7. Great pictures! This has been a very frosty winter so far ; )

  8. Hi Janet,

When I volunteered as a Bestsellers Reading Group at AOL, I held open book chats with authors...I remember chatting with Jodi Picoult who so wanted to be chosen by Oprah as her book selection...WOW, didn't she really make it big...and I don't believe Oprah ever featured her at least not when I was was there.
    Your photos are really nice:)

It is a pleasure to find your writer's blog...since I wanted to come back, I became a follower.

Looking forward to reading some of your older posts:)
