A while back we built a duck house. Click here to see my post about it.
I would love to see baby ducks diving out of the hole into the creek, but our local ducks have yet to set up housekeeping in it.
But our squirrels have been checking it out.
Last week we saw them dragging house-building materials into the house opening. This is okay with us. If the ducks don't use it, the next best thing would be the squirrels.
I took a few pics this morning.

You'd think they were flying squirrels |
I've read that squirrels have babies twice a year - in the spring and summer.
For the first time, this year I had a squirrel visiting the bird feeders. He was quite comical as he clung to the post of one feeder and stretched to reach another one. He also eats off the ground. I guess it's o.k. for him to eat, but I'd rather not buy feed for him. lol
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll get to see the baby squirrels should there be some.
Squirrels can wrangle their way into any feeder, up any vertical climb and by pass the greased poles. My daughter buys enough seed for the squirrels who snatch the bird food.
